Borrowing

Students: A valid ONE Card (Student ID) is required to borrow items from the Library. Continuing Education and part-time students have the same borrowing privileges as full-time students. To verify your account, call or visit the Customer Service Desk at any Library location.

Faculty & Staff: A valid Employee ID card is required to borrow items from the Library. To verify your account, call or visit the Customer Service Desk at any library location.

  Check Out Items

Check out items at the Customer Service Desk at all three library locations. A self checkout station is available at both Cummings and IAHS Libraries. The checkout stations use touch screen technology with screen instructions to guide you through the process. You can generate a printed receipt or have a receipt sent via email. Please ask library staff at the Customer Service Desk if you need help using the machines.

  Loan Duration

  Return Items

You can return items to the Customer Service Desk at any of our three library locations. Borrow from one campus library and return to another campus library!  A drop chute is located outside the Cummings Library for books returned after hours. Please do not use the drop chute to return laptops/Chromebooks or any items borrowed from the TECH BARs.

  Borrower Responsibility

You are responsible for any items signed out on your account. If an item is damaged, lost or stolen, you will be charged a replacement cost and a processing fee.

Unpaid accounts will be sent to a collection agency at which time the return of overdue material will not be accepted and your library privileges will be canceled. Bills sent to collection must be settled with the collection agency or with Mohawk College's Accounting Department.

  Borrowing from other College Libraries

Mohawk College Library has a direct, reciprocal borrowing agreement with every community college library in Ontario. Privileges apply to all current Mohawk College students, staff and faculty. To borrow items, visit the circulation desk at any participating library and present your student ID (ONE Card). Please note that additional ID may be required in order to verify your personal information. Loan periods, fines, etc. are determined by the lending library. Please view the Direct Borrowing Agreement (PDF) for details. To search the collections of the participating college libraries, visit the Ontario Colleges Library Catalogue.
