Printsmart Pay Stations funds can be added using quarters, loonies, toonies, $5, $10 and $20 bills, up to a value of $20. (Please note, pay stations do NOT provide change.)

Always LOG-OUT after finishing a print job otherwise the next person printing can use your account. If you click “Print & Go”, this prints everything in your queue and automatically logs you out of your account after the print job.

 Why do my papers keep getting jammed in the feeder?

If your papers have folds, tears or are three-hole punched, turn them around so the clean paper edge enters the photocopier feed first and the side with the holes etc. are last to be fed into the photocopier.  If the paper does not have any holes etc., and it keeps getting jammed, please ask Library Staff for assistance.

Can I print on paper other than what's available in the printer/copier ?

The only paper available in the library MFD’s is letter size. With the exception of the McMaster Maps library, located on the 1st floor of Mills and the Sharp devices on the 3rd floor which allow you to print on 11"x17" paper. 

What if I have my own special paper can it be put in the copier?

Sorry no other paper can be loaded.

Oops I printed the wrong document, can I get a refund? User error! 

The library is not responsible for errors made by the user. Before you hit print check that ALL print settings to avoid being charged for an error.

Can I print from my laptop?

Yes you can, you'll find detailed instructions here. Scroll down the page and look under “Can I print from my personal laptop”.

Sometimes I CAN print and sometimes I CAN’T print from my laptop, what do I do?

Check that your laptop is connected to “MacSecure” and NOT ‘MacConnect’  The reason why documents will not print through the connection of “MacConnect” is because it is an unsecure network, and the printers are not connected to that network. The only way to print from your laptop if it is connected to the secure network, MacSecure.  If connected to the right connection and still not able to print, please ask for assistance.

How long does a print job stay in the printing queue?

Print job's not released will remain in the queue for 8 hours.
