Zotero

You can download Zotero onto your computer to keep track of all of your references. 

NB:  Only runs with FireFox.

 
 

WizFolio

Are you struggling to keep all of your citations straight?  Are you looking for a program that will help you store and organize your references and help you create your references list? 

 Check out WizFolio.  This program is easy to download and install, and it will work with the major browsers (IE, FireFox, Chrome and Safari).
  • WizFolio
    WizFolio allows you to add resources manually, or import using the WizAdd feature directly into the program.

    You can add the WizCite plugin to your Word program, so that you can import your references directly from Wizfolio to your paper.

Reference managers

These sites provide software to help you keep track of references/sources you've found helpful and want to use in a report.  Some also allow you to share with colleagues. 

  • CiteULike
    Send documents to your CiteULike library and turn them into citations when you are ready.
  • Connotea
    Click and save references into your citation library.
  • Mendeley
    Also has a function to generate bibliographies. App available too!
 

Online citation makers

  • Son of Citation Machine
    1. Select your desired citation format from the left hand side of the citation maker, i.e. APA
    2. Select the type of resource you are using.
    3. Enter in as much information as possible.
    4. Click Submit.

    The citation maker will provide you with an APA style citation for your reference list and for your in-text citation.

    The system does not remove extra punctuation, and it will not correct capitalization.
  • EasyBib
    This citation aid is only available in MLA format for free. You can get a free 3-day trial for APA citations.

    To use the program, you search for the resource you need to cite, and if EasyBib can find it, you will grab it from the list, and click on cite for the program to create a citation for you.
