Classroom Assessment Intro

Roberta Burke, Peggy French, Leslie Marshall, Catharine Ozols, and Lisa Pegg from your Centre for Teaching and Learning have been busy creating and facilitating workshops on assessment here at Mohawk College. This guide is a compilation of resources supporting their workshop content.

The Educational Technology and Academic Integrity tabs were added because so many questions on assessment seem tied to the changes new technology brings. Educational Technology resources from the Library provide some background to Mohawk's new plans for educational technology, while Academic Integrity looks at the Library @ Mohawk new duo for curbing plagiarism and promoting academic integrity.

Here is an inspiring take on education. It really does put things in perspective. With insight and humour, Sir Ken makes an extremely strong case for increased creativity in education - at the very least challenging us to re-think our approaches.

Assessment Techniques

This vignette from the University of California's Teaching and Learning Centre gives a thorough background on types of assessment and when you might want to use which type. It's 10 minutes well spent on an intro for new instructors or a great refresher for veterans.
